I get it completely. When trying to lose weight, if the scale ain’t moving, you feel STUCK, defeated, doubtful, and overwhelmed. And sadly enough, this is the time when I see clients throw in the towel.
As a Hormonal Fat Loss Coach, I want you to first burn THIS into your brain: Plateaus are a normal and expected part of the fat loss process. Plateaus provide us with excellent data on how best to adjust our food and fitness.
The biggest confusion is this – HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M IN A PLATEAU?
No decrease in the scale for 2 weeks.
No decreases in ANY body measurements.
No changes in your body fat percentages.
No strength performance improvements.
If any of these things are moving, you are NOT in a plateau!!!
I rarely see clients in TRUE plateaus because often if the scale doesn’t move then body measurements do. Or if scale and measurements hold steady, strength performance increases.
All too often we want a lightening bolt speed process, demanding instant results in our instant access world.
Sorry to say, but it doesn’t work that way. There’s something GREAT to be realized in the work, in the grind, the hustle, the grit and the tenacity that true change requires. All that stuff, it shapes us into some freaking amazing human beings.
