do what you always do & get what you always get (my lessons learned)

My body has had many ups and downs over the last 20 years.

I’ve been “skinny” with zero muscle mass while on Jenny Craig (125lbs) on 800 calories daily.

I started long bouts of cardio at the gym and maintained around 140s.

My body weight stalled so I started running marathons, ultra marathons, then long distance triathlon all while my weight held stead at 155lbs.

And in between, I’ve had my fair share of injuries and surgeries that put me out of commission. And with each bout, a 20 plus pound rapid weight gain ensued.

I always would do what I always did – eat less and exercise more.

I was deathly afraid to try any other way.

But in March, instead of doing things like I always did, I took a leap of faith. I was sick and tired of basing my identity and my self-worth on a number, on the scale, on a size, on my race times. I wanted to be at peace with food, with my body. And so I let it go.

I applied to work with the Wonder Woman Official and was fortunate enough to be paired with Coach Janelle Marks. She’s been a great support for me in dealing with my own emotional eating and exercising patterns.

Yes, I am a Coach, but I’m human too. TBH, becoming a FitPro was initially based on my own disordered relationship with food and fitness.

As someone who was IN it, been THROUGH it and now GROWING from it, I am happy that I can share the same with the clients I work with.

Many coaching programs fail to teach you the ‘why’ (or even the ‘how’), but for long term success, you need to understand what your body needs, why it needs it, and someone to help you make adjustments along the way. And that is exactly what I do my my tribe!

With a little guidance and support, you will become the best version of yourself as well, and I am here to help you.
