If you’re on a sustainable fat loss plan don’t expect to drop several pounds within a few weeks…
☝️THIS is is not realistic.
And I’m guilty of that same #mindset too. We are, after all, HUMAN 🧍🧍🧍🧍.
To this day, with my own journey, I catch myself reverting back to this unrealistic expectation when I do my own check ins with my own coach.
My expectation comes from:
➡️ years of extreme exercise where I would run 6 miles before weighing myself
➡️years of extreme dieting where I would stick to about 500 calories a day for several days to drop 5-7 pounds.
➡️years of doing both shit tons of exercise and shit tons of starving before Jenny Craig weigh ins, before Doctors appointments, before going out with my boyfriend (my husband now); when I felt “fat”; when I was depressed or stressed; the list goes on and on…
And this is WHY I work with most of my clients for 6-12 MONTHS NOW (at a minimum) because this is how long sustainable fat-loss takes.
I even have clients that are working towards a 40+ weight loss goal, so we are planning on coaching together for as long as that will take.
So the next time you may be beating yourself up about your goals “taking soooo long” or “going soooo slooowwww,” I want you to:
