This babe is a 57 year old nurse. I want to share her story showing YOU that you do not have be in a deficit (in the traditional way you may think) in order to create body recomposition.
This gal has an EPIC step count (ya know nurses do!) and is a pretty near life-long vegan. Protein intake was never her jam. But she maintained a lean physique throughout her life by her consistent habits of eating Whole Foods and moving her body.
Before coming to work with me, she did F45 classes 4-5x per week. So you can imagine how disappointed she was when she realized that she had gained some weight and lost muscle mass. She joined my 6 week Summer Shred macros program where she realized these KEY insights:
1️⃣ Although she ate HEALTHY, her overall caloric food intake was really high.
2️⃣ She was completely SHOCKED at how high her total daily fat intake was (near 100 grams of good fat daily).
3️⃣ She never realized how little protein intake she was actually consuming. She said “I get 100 grams daily easy.” And of course, that was before we actually started tracking the macro data.
I put this gal at maintenance macros according to her pretty active, on her feet lifestyle.
And like every challenge she faces, she tackled this macro journey with the same intensity and can do attitude, creating macro target meals 3-4x per day.
She always made our weekly Zoom check ins. And she navigated two out of town work trips with mindfulness and macros in mind.
During this time, she began to lift with me weekly and got out of her comfort zone to get back to her local gym to lift on her own. Initially, she did not like this but after seeing these changes in such a short amount of time, she’s motivated more than ever.
