Have you ever said this to yourself? diet myth busting time!

Have you ever said this to yourself? These were my classic go-to stories I told myself during my dieting heydays.

It’s myth 👻 busting time!

🧞‍♀️you can’t exercise off a poor diet! Using cardio as a crutch creates disordered eating and exercise behaviors. Most important of all, your body just doesn’t work that way. If it were as simple as exercising more to offset the food you eat, the fat loss industry wouldn’t be where it’s at today. Sure, exercising more may make you “feel better;” but it’s no place to live. It’s always best to prioritize a balanced diet rather than relying on exercise!

🧟‍♀️ eating healthy doesn’t mean you are maintaining a calorie deficit. You need to eat less than you consume to lose weight. Hidden calories; underestimating portions; hormonal factors; stress levels; medications / medical conditions and lack of physical activity are several factors that may be at play when it comes to weight gain. No matter the reason, it’s important to approach weight loss holistically. There is no one-size-fits-all here!

🦄 feeling overwhelmed when you have a significant amount of weight to lose is totally understandable. Instead of focusing on your huge end goal, set smaller goals that you can reach along the way. Focus on non-scale victories and reach out for support!

The most sustainable approach to weight loss involves making gradual changes to your LIFESTYLE. Focus on creating a healthy, balanced routine that you can maintain in the long term. Every step you take towards a healthier lifestyle is a step in the right direction, regardless of the ultimate goal!
