when do i eat before a workout?

Workout nutrition is important but often overlooked. As someone with severe ulcerative colitis, I spent years competing in endurance triathlon fasted because my gut was always angry. I was never able to achieve my physique goals because I spent a long time trying to out cardio my food choices. Now, at 47 years young, I know AND FEEL MUCH better!

Dialing in your workout nutrition is a great way to maximize your efforts and results!

Consistently eating enough protein, carbs and fats in balance is KEY to perform, recover and look your best.

Shorter / less intense workouts may not need as much fuel. Longer / more intense workouts may require more fuel.⛽️

Rule of thumb 👍🏾 ➡️ the larger your pre-workout meal, the longer you’ll probably want to wait before starting exercise.

Play around with timing to see what’s best for you. Most people seem to feel their best when they eat around 60-120 minutes before their workout.

I’m selective of my pre workout meal and timing because having a permanent ostomy makes planning ahead a little more nuanced. Our bodies are vastly unique, so figure out what works best for you!
