Remember though, you have to start. You have a choice and you make a decision – either you start or you choose not to.

What will it take for you to create the action necessary for the sustainable change you seek?

1. Start small. Stop the thought that you need to go LONG and HARD in order to be successful. Start with 10-15 minutes of exercise per day. Pick activities you enjoy, like dancing or walking. Set an exercise goal and reward yourself every time you achieve it. Integrate everyday activities like climbing the stairs or cycling to work.

2. Schedule it. Schedule your workouts like you schedule your work projects, family appointments and just like you schedule your hair, nail or facial appointments! My client recently told me this: “I make time for exercise by putting my workouts on my calendar and scheduling my day around them. That way I have to get to them.”

3. Increase the daily movement you are already doing! Consider looking at your current daily step count and bumping that average by 200 steps per day. Walk to a more distant bus stop or take the stairs instead of the elevator at the office. Consider a group workout class to join in on the community vibe!
