Yesterday was the LAST day of my #healthyhabitschallenge and it’s all about MINDFUL EATING!
You may be asking “What the heck is mindful eating?”
Mindful eating is being aware of the foods you eat. How they make you feel and how your choices contribute to your overall health.
Mindful eating requires you to learn how to choose food through the process of food preparation and eating, choosing enjoyable and nutritious foods, acknowledging food preferences non judgmentally, recognizing and honoring physical hunger and satiety cues, and using wisdom to guide eating decisions.
Mindful eating is the KEY to losing or maintaining weight.
MIndLESS eating is where most of us end up when trying to lose weight.
No matter where I go, I always get into convos about food and fitness. Most times people feel judged by me because I am a Coach. If ya really know me – that is so FAR from my mission and philosophy as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. I have ZERO judgement on how others eat. My clients pay me to help them I always focus on having them eat a solid balance of good for you foods and fun foods too! It’s never perfection or all or nothing! It’s being MINDFUL!
I’ve been through all the cut EVERYTHING out and that never works long term!
I’ll go one further and say that the typical fad diets you are doing right NOW contribute to MINDLESS eating because these diets never teach you how to lose weight by eating ALL foods. All you know is that if you want to lose weight, you have to cut something out or not eat for a certain amount of time.
Ask yourself, can you do the diet you are on forever? Because the diet you are on should be a food eating style that you can do for life; a LIFESTYLE of eating that is enjoyable and non-restrictive.
