before you change the goal, change your approach

Confucius said, “When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.”

If that diet you are on…

If that workout plan you have been doing…

If that’s not getting the results you set out for, what do you do?

Most people do this:

—>Start another diet, a NEW one

—>Start another workout program, a NEW one

Diets and workout plans create shiny object syndrome – new, exciting, flashy, all FUN FUN FUN until you get bored.

Body change starts with mindset change.

Mindset change starts with examining your habits.

Your habits take you closer to or further away from your goals.

I love this quote by Octavia Butler:

“First forget inspiration.
Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not. Habit is persistence in practice.”

Weight loss and body transformation can be narrowed down this Zen Proverb our #TWW leader @yourhealthyhedonista tells us “Chop wood. Carry water.”

Through the highs, the lows, the mundane, I am reminded to

Chop wood 🪵, Carry water… 💧

👉🏾Take responsibility for myself.

👉🏾To plan ahead.

👉🏾To use my resources wisely.

👉🏾To share with others when I can.

👉🏾To ask for help when I need it and most importantly,

👉🏾To trust my village to support me.

No matter what is going on in the world, I have to do what must be done. Life goes on. I make it work. I do the best we can. That’s all I can do. I vow to be gentle with myself; to be patient and to be kind. And I hope you can do the same for yourself too xoxo 🔥
