week 9 – journey to wbff dallas in july

Is what I’m about to do today connected to what I’m going to value over the long-term?

I’m sometimes asked what made me want to compete? Another question I get is “am I not worried about being addicted to the look of being “stage ready and this, stage lean?”

And I can without doubt say, nope. Not worried at all about that.

If you’d ask me those questions 10 years ago, those concerns would be 100% valid. As I spent far too long chasing a body. I tried to compete and failed twice.

Why do I want to compete now?

Because I can. It would be easier to dismiss a long time goal because of my Ostomy. To keep telling myself my old story of being not good enough; damaged goods; not willing enough.

Why compete? Because now, in my head and my heart, it’s a goal I want to fulfill that has nothing to do with me chasing a body look. That’s a bonus for sure.

All of the habits that have gotten me this far, are the same habits carrying me through prep. That will be the same habits I keep when I complete this goal and settle back into maintenance life.

It’s also my mission statement to all of the auto immune warriors out there that despite not dealing with a full deck, there’s nothing we cannot accomplish. It may look different, but our will and the worth are just the same.

And if you scroll through, I share this week’s unflexed pics which Coach @janellefitmarks is asking for now to evaluate skin quality.

You see, there’s a big difference in the look. But in either set of pics, this body is the same. And I’m darn proud of this body that has carried me through life and death and is still standing STRONG.

It’s week 9 babes! Omg it’s going by too fast. Like I’m running out of time. But I’ve vowed to do what I can do and my body will be what it will be. And that’s what I love about @thewonderwomenofficial – there’s no tricks here. We do the work and allow the body to dictate the destination.

Week 9 has been not easy but not grinding.

My cravings have been manageable as I really get specific about making sure my meals are a lot of high volume foods to keep my full. Stir fry veg; cauli rice; big romaine and tomato salads,

baby carrots prepared every which way…I even have tracked top sirloin every day last week! Been craving the red meat.

Today I hit my lowest weight: 143.8LBS (10lbs down from starting prep weight)

Stage goal weight is anywhere from 125-135lb. I’m hoping to be able to keep a rate of loss at 1lb per week.

I’m in another cut and they will get more frequent as we push now early. I’d rather be the early bird than the procrastinator.

35 minute Cardio 70-75% every day and I’ve busted out the bike. I find it’s easier to get my HR up on the bike with less effort than it is running. My resting heart rate is 41 so walking ain’t cutting it (literally 😂)

Macros – nowhere in poverty land. Still get 1 high, 4 mod and 2 low days but with a little less carbs and fats than before.

BLTs haven’t appeared this last week and I attribute that to making big whole food meals and hitting my gallon water per day.

I just started my posing with my Coach and am waiting for my shoes to arrive! 😱 My heels now are way shorter than what stage heels are so we’ll see how that goes!

Here’s current metrics!
Waist: 26”
Thigh: 20”
Hips: 36.50”
