i’ve failed way more than i’ve succeeded

I’ve heard it so many times. Like a plea for help from women struggling with their thoughts, conscious and unconscious thoughts that sometimes lead them to their wins and sometimes leads them to their self loathing and misery.

People says it’s easy – just change your thoughts. And yeah, if it were that easy. But they are on to something – you DO have to change your thoughts. But where do you start?

You start with first Being PRESENT. Every minute you have to make a decision. Every decision there comes a choice. It is at THIS pivotal moment where your decision, your choice can set the trajectory for your day, your week, your month, your year, your 3 years, 5 years, 7 years, 10 years, the rest of your life… Where do you want your path to lead?

Every BODY has different goals. Fitness and FOOD have to be customized to your OWN goals. There is no right or wrong. I coach women to learn how to incorporate their food and fitness lifestyle into their life, not have their life work around food and fitness. It is a stress-LESS process that is joyful and welcoming, not something they fear or dread.

We have a saying in Hawaii were we tell someone , “Eh, no worry beef curry.” Yes, this is how I want my female clients to perceive their programming from me – it shouldn’t induce worry. It should ignite excitement!

Sometimes people think that I as a trainer have a perfect way of coping with food and fitness. Sometimes they forget, I am human just like the rest of us.

I’ve failed WAY more than I’ve succeeded.

I’ve failed over and over and over and over again. Day after day. Week after week. Year after year.

And you know what?

Failure hurts, like a kick you in the teeth kind of hurt.

It’s taken decades for me to settle into a rhythmic flow of mindful eating, without the shame, guilt and anxiety I’ve always surrounded around food, eating, not eating, eating when, eating how much, good food, bad food, guilt food, comfort food… and this is what kick started my Thee S Approach to Mindful and Intuitive Eating.

My (3) S’s approach to mindful eating are Signs, Savor and Seated; eating from intuition, when you are hungry and stopping when you are satisfied. No fancy formula. No bells and whistles; just a moment of pause and thought woven into a series of impressions you make over and over again as leave  “permanent foot prints in the sand” so to speak, building a forever habit.

The end goal? By using my three S method before each snack or meal you eat, you will create a layer of awareness resulting in intuitive eating –  an eating style that promotes a healthy attitude not only toward your food, but also toward your body image.
